I shot this pic while walking in the ancient part of Athens.The poppies caught my attention because they represented the new age linked to a wall that had seen thousands of years and history. I used my sony DSC_H9

NO ENHANCEMENT WITH A PC I HATE DOING THAT

oh how cool.. believe or not.. I had never seen a *live poppie*. My grandpa who served in WW2 use to sell poppies to fund activities for the elderly that served in the military. Thank you for showing me what one looks like.

Oh I love it when plants grow out of stone like that. I have two videos on my site of violets growing in the cracked cement of an alley which runs parallel the public transit train line. Little Flowers- Big City: Violets growing at the base of the Red Line Viaduct in an alley 2/2 and Little Flowers- Big City: Violets growing at the base of the Red Line Viaduct in an alley 1/2

Poppies are always poppies and... their red colour under the sunshine and against the whitish stone(?) results in a very beautiful effect. Nice shot, indeed!

That is a very beautiful capture Nico. The contrast of the Poppies with the stone and the fact that something can grow out of nothing, just like that! A favorite for sure!
